this beautiful fall afternoon, christian and i were outside enjoying the sunshine while dave watched a tennis match at the Sacks's. C had a hankering to rake with the giant rake, which he got very frustrated by. so i let him push around a small handtruck, which he got a major kick out of. while he was happily playing on the mumba with an old muppet figurine i'd found cleaning out my parents' basement (it's gonzo, which he tries to say...so cute!), i got a hankering to clean and organize our garage. apparently nesting has set in early. very different from last pregnancy. it never really set in at all. i pitched a lot of junk and cleared a lot of space, and put a lot of things on shelves. this felt SO good. why? i don't know. i just REALLY like being clean and organized. though it doesn't seem to work most of the time in our main living space. right now C is walking (or stumbling) around the living room with a blanket on his head. the other day he was enjoying this same activity when he ran into the wall. apparently that injury hasn't stuck with him. inevitably the blanket will end up on the floor, along with most of the bowls and tupperware from the kitchen. somehow, that hankering to clean doesn't kick in as strongly when the mess just keeps getting made.
at any rate, it is nice to have a clean garage... :)
now we're off, as a family, to the nature preserve to enjoy the last bit of sunshine for the day...
