Toni's Wedding

Breathtaking. Really. The whole thing. There is no way to describe how special, personal, intimate, and beautiful this day was for Kris and Toni. Not to mention redeeming, powerful, and full of JOY. The bride was radiant, stunning, and otherwise gorgeous. The groom was glowing and gazing. It was everything they hoped it would be-- and more. The weather was even perfect! What a sweet beginning to a new life together! And a happy ending to all those tough times that are now the past. Love you, girl!!!

The Announcement!

Surprise!!

Finally-- i can blog with abandon! It's been a busy and exciting week for us! Starting with the friday before Father's Day, when we anxiously awaited the unvailing of our 2 big family secrets-- Christian and Willa's new roles as Big Brother and Big Sister! We've known for 6 weeks and decided, along with Seth and Kel, to keep it under wraps until the kiddos could 'announce' it together, in person, to the fam!
Both unplanned, and both due in January (a week apart!!), we are still in shock (and awe) of God's timing and apparent plan for our growing families! I had been dreaming every night about the 'announcement', with much anxiety that Mom knew and was just playing along. But in reality, no one had a clue what was coming, as you can tell by the video!! It went off without a hitch, and although it took a few seconds for the "message" of their shirts to sink in, it was a priceless and 'totally worth waiting for' moment in time!
We spent the rest of the week in sweet relief, able to openly eat and sleep to our hearts' content! And had a lot of fun watching the toddlers do their thing-- so busy and so delightful-- mostly playing side-by-side, but sometimes interacting in the most adorable way. Willa is still a bundle of joyful energy, and Christian is still a studious observer-- but both never stop moving and exploring the giant world around them. I will have to put the pics in a slideshow once i get them all organized. with the new camera, all of the pics are being uploaded to dave's computer, which means i have to go pick out the best ones (a difficult job!), and then transfer them to my computer, and then upload them to Picasa. ... Ahh, technology!
So for now, enjoy these two sneak previews, courtesy of Aunt Joan:

Simple Pleasures

*at the end he suddenly realizes there are firetrucks on his pj's, hence the 'siren' sound...

Mum-bah!

The highlight of Christian's weekend-- perhaps his entire little life-- the last one is a video :)

Kaila and the Firetrucks

Today we went to visit baby Kaila in her new home! She is the most precious, calm and sweet baby girl! Christian had very little interest in her (although her new little belly button intrigued him a lot!). He had his sights set across the street where the firetrucks and ambulances live! The fire chief saw how excited he was to see the trucks, and gave him his very own fire hat. We will definitely be taking lots of trips to see baby Kaila and her trucks this summer-- there's something for everyone at the Thoman's!!
congrats, Kate-- you are an awesome mommy!

of course he's smiling on the INSIDE....

Playing with Harrison

This week we went to play with Harrison and his new baby sister, Caroline. They are Jessica's kids (my roommate from Messiah College), and they just moved back to the area from Illinois. Harrison is a year older than Christian, and Caroline was just born on Christian's birthday a month ago! It was the first time Christian has really hung out with another boy, one on one, and it was fun to watch them interact. Harrison did a pretty good job letting C get his hands all over his toys! And of course our budding little musician liked tickling the ivories the best! Hopefully we'll get to spend a lot more time with them over the coming months!!
