muh-wiss

today, christian called me "muh-wiss" (Meliss).
i couldn't believe my ears! he was playing with the buckle on the back of his high chair, and all of a sudden started repeating over and over again, "Buckle, Muh-wiss!"
I kept asking him what he was saying, and he finally pointed at me and said, "Muh-WISS."
(my mom had called me "meliss" the night before... i guess he filed that one away!)
a few minutes later, i asked him if he knew what my name was, and he said "Missa".
i asked him who told him that. he said "gwamsy".
later this evening, i was in another room, and he ran down the hall looking for me, saying, "Muh-wiss go? Muh-wiss go?" (ie, 'Where'd Meliss go?')
and that was it. the rest of the day and night i was "Mommy".
it's a very bizarre feeling to have your child call you by your real name. Especially when you didn't know he knew it!
