Yesterday we dedicated Christian Alexander to the Lord. Not that we hadn't already done so in general, but we made it a public declaration before our church family that we are committed to raising him in the love and wisdom of God. It's both refreshing and amazing to remember that he's not ultimately ours, but the Father's. It is our prayer for him to grow up with an understanding that his life is not by accident-- that he is called a child of God, and he has a calling and a purpose to fulfill on this earth: to love God and love others. It's a sobering realization that we are responsible to teach him how to do so, and yet incredibly freeing that we are only called to teach him these truths-- the rest is between him and his Creator. What an awesome privilege to be able to shape such a moldable little heart and mind for Good, in a world where there is so much that is not good.
You are LOVED, little Bubby, and we are dedicated to making sure you KNOW it!!!
