i started my 30's off with a bang at 3:30am. . . ok, so it was more of a 'waaah' that lasted till around 5am when i finally caved and nursed the child back to sleep. poor little guy. his fever seemed to be gone, but he woke an hour and a half later in tears once again, and was somewhat tugging at his ears. . . happy birthday, mommy :)
so i'm eating a fresh baked cinnamon roll by the fire instead of going out to breakfast with my little family (my one birthday wish, sniff...)... while he and daddy are taking a little trip to the doctor.
but honestly? i feel like this whole year has been like one big birthday present after another. so what's a little ear infection on my actual birthday? i am so thankful that dave had already decided to take the day off (just for me :) ) and that i can go take a leisurely shower and relax without a runny nosed sweetheart attached to my leg. that's a gift in and of itself! plus, the sun is currently shining in my window and the snow is fluffy white outside. i love my life!
if he's feeling better we might go to Longwood Gardens later and walk around the 'sunny' indoor gardens, so i can get a dose of UV to boost my February spirits. i am the most blessed woman on the planet-- and as i've spent time recounting the past decade of my life this week, i have concluded that this past year has been perhaps the best so far! i have everything i could want, and i deserve none of it!
so 30's, come on in! i'm ready for the ride :)
