blueberry season

we looooove blueberries at our house. now that they're in season and we can afford to buy them fresh each week, the boys devour them like candy practically morning, noon and night. i try to bake them into something bulkier, so that they are not overloading on fruit... which is easy for their little bellies to do! i've been making blueberry pancakes and muffins, and today, i found this fabulous, healthy recipe

we polished off half a loaf as soon as it came out of the oven. you know that 10 min. it's supposed to cool IN the pan, and then FULLY cool on the rack? yeah... didn't make it 5 minutes. my oven always bakes things faster than the recipe calls for-- and unfortunately the center was still a little underdone while the outside was getting too dark. but somehow we didn't mind! it was fab!! i don't think i've ever seen a recipe for banana bread that called for olive oil, but it was superb.
Next i'd like to try these brown sugar blueberry cookies from one of my favorite foodie blogs.
And in a few days the 4th of July will call for a red, white and blue trifle-- YESSS!
can't wait!
